the antique pitcher

My sweet husbuddy got the sweetest gift for me for our anniversary. I know it’s so late to be writing about it, but i just wanted to show off a little bit and i wanted to do the gift justice-hence-the two week long wait to write this 🙂

Look!

Is it not beautiful?

Breath taking?

Are you impressed my boy picked this out?

yea. you and me both.

The story starts one bored Saturday in June. I decided I wanted to visit one of my fav. antique shops. If you live in the NJ area you HAVE to check this place out! It’s awesome! It’s called The Tomato Factory

That day, I plucked up my husbuddy’s limp body, dragged him down the stairs, across the sidewalk, forced his butt and feet into the car and drove him to Hopewell, NJ. And we only got lost once! (well. maybe twice)

Finally he woke from the stupor that my asking him to come to an antique store put him in. He realized it was actually a really cool store! totally different from most of the antique places i drag him to. 🙂

Anyway, when we were there I pointed out how much fiestaware they have and how much i thought they were all so beautiful.  I first learned about fiestaware from the Pioneer Woman. (see, mom?! i’m learning a lot from blogging 🙂

And then. Two months later…

 HE REMEMBERED!

holy crap. i know. can you believe it? he doesn’t remember what i told him this morning, but he remembers that? miracles happen, i tell ya.

🙂

So i got home from work on my anniversary and he had this sweet thing all wrapped up. I’m so proud of him for remembering that i loved this.

So-you know what that means. He went to the antique store by himself. HOLY moly! All the store ladies told him he was cute for doing that. 🙂 hee hee. i think you’re cute too sweetie! 🙂 aren’t you proud of your son Pam?!

So now I’ve been researching it a little bit. It’s from the 1940s. I think it’s just gorgeous. And i love that he picked out this one because it seems more rare than the disc pitchers. I’ve found only a couple of references here & here . Other than that- i don’t know anything about it. I just think it’s SO pretty!! 🙂

Bravo Babe. Bravo.
