new Easter art {free printable!}

yesterday, Husbuddy asked if i would make a “He is Risen” artwork for the church website and i immediately had the desire to get out some paint brushes. it’s been SO LONG since i’ve held any paint brushes in my hands! man alive it felt good to play with them a little!  i guess i got a little ahead of myself because apparently he just wanted me to do it more graphic-design-y with just font. #hugemisunderstanding especially since i was *a little* annoyed that he asked me so last minute. whoops. goes to show that we’ve had more than our fair share of misunderstandings recently since we’ve been so busy with the lent/easter season.

anyway… as i was painting, i realized that i don’t really have any “easter decorations” up…but really i don’t own any.

so i decided i was going to make this little artwork into my first decoration and hang it on the wall and see what else i could scrounge up to make a little Easter vignette.

so there ya go. a sweet little tray {let’s pretend it’s NOT on the microwave} with my finest easter decorations! LOL.

we have a cute little bunny dish {which really was a flower pot that some of Sophia’s flowers came in when she was born…but we’ll just use it for something different!} holding colorful candy, a pair of bird salt and pepper shakers, and some pretty italian doilies hanging out on the tray…

easter orchid

a pretty, bright orchid that i’ve managed to keep alive almost two whole months now!

{seriously people, why do you keep giving me plants when i just kill them?! this one is easy because it just gets an ice cube every sunday…or monday when i forget on sunday…lol}

and Sophia’s palm branch from palm sunday. good thing she didn’t need it… it kind of makes the vignette! ha. that and my new print.

it’s so happy and cheery because i modeled it after my JOY print.  in other words… i copied myself. lol. but i think that’s allowed…right?

{and really, i just went with it since i had a nap to get it done in for Husbuddy’s deadline…uh hem…}

so, i painted it, scanned it in and printed it off… then i’ve just taped it to the wall with washi tape.

you guys… i’m ALL ABOUT The Nester’s slogan “it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful because hello…tape? not perfect. and a random thrift store frame that i haven’t painted yet? not perfect. but it’s still beautiful and i’m still happy with it… and let’s be honest, it will probably all change in a month or so!

{ps- who’s buying me the Nester’s new book? because um, how fun does it look! yes?!}

easter decor2

and in that space next to the little vignette, i plan on adding Sophia’s first Easter basket on sunday! eek! so fun!

he is risen 5x7

so, if you’d like to bring some Easter cheeriness into your house too, this printable is yours for free! just click on one of the links below and print!

{and just think! it would be a fun gift to give your Easter dinner host too…not that i’m planning on doing that or anything…}

It’s THAT easy to get some bright pretty artwork on your wall… go ahead and use tape too. ha. #idhtbptbb
