notes to Sophia

notes for sophia

after one of our first prenatal doctors appointments last summer, we stopped by barnes and noble and bought this book. i have big hopes for this little journal. it is a journal that i am starting to fill with notes to Sophia.

i hope to give it to her when she is 18 or 21 or whenever i feel is right. i did something similar when i was in jr./highschool/college… i wrote letters to my future husband…lol, i was that cheesy. but i remember giving them to him on our wedding day. i was giving him my heart.

this will be similar. but mother to daughter.

i hope to fill it with letters and prayers throughout her childhood.

i pray that one day, when she reads this, she will know my heart and love for her.

there are little notes in this book already, some i started before she was even born! little messages and little love letters that i can’t wait to share with her!  i know i’ll forget things… and i don’t want to… so i’m writing them down.

i also wonder, what if i ever have to leave her? i know it’s morbid…but we never know how many days we have. i worry and wonder, how will she know my love for her unless i write it down?

my hope and prayer is that i can have a journal like this for each one of my children{if we get blessed with any more!}.

my hope and prayer is that through this journal, through my love for her, she will see God’s love for her in every step of life.

{this idea isn’t original. i actually first saw it on Ashley Ann’s blog}

have any of you ever done this?? any suggestions? i’d love to hear!

One Response to notes to Sophia

    I love this idea and wish I had thought of it for my kiddos. I did do a journal for a few years, just recording what we did each week and a little bit of what they were doing. I had forgotten about them until I saw your post. I can’t wait to get them out and read them. I also wish I had continued writing, but things got crazy.

    Keep up the good work!!
