Politics, friends and DC.

Last weekend we drove 4 hours to visit Washington DC.

The first order of business:

to check out the White House since our hotel was right down the street.

second order of business:

walk down The Mall: see the Washington Monument and the Capitol,

and the museums.

Third order of business: find the sculpture garden…

because there was a jazz concert going on! Apparently it happens every Friday evening, with Sangria and everything! O why doesn’t P-town have one of these?!?

it was so much fun! we met up with some friends and listened to the music.

after a little jazz and some dinner we walked back to the hotel by stopping by the White House again to see it all lit up!

Question: How can the President sleep with all those lights pointed at his house??

The next morning we had a personal tour of The Capitol building! One of our friends is a staff person for one of the Idaho Senators.

we were all on a mission. {wait a minute… is the capitol leaning? hee hee}It was so wonderful to see these friends from Idaho! 🙂 We love you, Andy and Megan!! (and Brad, good job taking the picture!)

This was the House of Representatives side of the building (i think?)

It was so cool to get up close and personal.

this is the mold for the statue Freedom that is on top of the building. SO. BIG.  I think it’s neat that it has a Native American headdress on Freedom’s head.

i LOVED the Rotunda. It was beautiful!! after the awesome tour, we were trying to decide what to do:: so we decided to take a jumping picture 🙂

this picture defines our epic trip. if you ask me!

Friends and DC: fun fun!! Thanks for meeting up with us you guys!
