“I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence [boldness] he will rise and give him whatever he needs. And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”
this verse reminds us to pray boldly. to pray with impudence. we are to keep knocking on God’s door. keep asking for His aid. for His love. for Him to act. Jesus says so himself, right after teaching his disciples how to pray at the beginning of Luke 11! how often do we keep asking? how often are we too quick to give up in our requests because they seem to be ignored? i implore you: just keep asking!! He WILL always answer. sometimes not in the perfect way that we’ve made up in our own heads, but He always answers. Jesus says to just to boldly ask.
