what I learned in April

1. Easter is way more exhausting then I could have imagined as a pastor’s family
2. our time is short, all we have is today. an unexpected death in the church of a woman who glorified God daily reminded me that that’s all that matters.
3. Sophia is a rockstar smiler but road trips are not her favorite
4. to remind myself of Grace and that it’s ok if all I do in a day is feed my daughter…she’s growing and that’s a big daily accomplishment!
5. we have to learn to breath when it’s windy.
6. the comparison game is SO NoT worth it.
7. DIY with your husbuddy can be an adventure in over-engineering…more on that soon! lol.
8. dream feeds are a life sleep saver! we’ve been sleeping 7-8 hrs at a time all month! Whoo hoo!

have you ever thought about the things you’ve learned at the end of a month? Emily at Chatting at the Sky encouraged me to think about it! It’s a nice exercise to think about what God has brought you through in just a month! praise Him for all He’s done!

and now I’ll leave you with some Instagram images from the month of April. enjoy!

Happy May!

weekend instagram

it’s the weekend again already. how does that happen? anyway, all week long i’ve been meaning to share with you a few instagrams from last weekend’s trip to back to Princeton::

this photo was to prove that we love road trips, we love waking up at 5 am to drive 6 hours, and we love going exploring together: {no really, we DO!}

and that puppycakes does too: {actually, he probably loves it more}

we stayed with our dear friends Sharon and Joel. after arriving just in time for them to feed us lunch {hee hee…see, we know they’re really good cooks} Sharon and i took a walk around the old stomping grounds. this is me in front of our what used to be our old apartment! it was actually a little sad to see our home for 3 years gone, that tree was planted by our elderly neighbor, Bill. i was so glad to see it still standing!

then we headed downtown to walk around sweet little Princeton with more dear friends from PTS days. we actually met Matt and Sarah at the very beginning because the boys were in their first class together. it’s so great to catch up on each other’s lives! {we also were led by that little guy with the Charlie hat… it was a rather slow process}

i SO miss bent spoon hot chocolate… as well as our many walks and talks, girls:

the next day was filled with church and more visits from friends, including a cute little red head and her family 🙂 here she is reading to little Owen:

catching up with old friends is the best:

but so is watching Owen practice walking in his fancy new gait trainer! {you can see him in action over on his blog} obviously we all had to cheer him on: go Owen go!

the weekend was so full of lots of good food{Joel is an amazing chef!}, lots of friends, lots of games {dad, we played 7 Wonders!}, late nights and lots of talking. it was awesome and so good for our hearts.

seriously, i am so blessed by this girl. when we hang out again it’s like no time has happened-in reality it’s been 5 months! thanks for hosting us, dear friends! miss you tons!

ps. dear instagram: you are making me lazy to get out my real camera… this is not so good for the blog. i promise to work on that and limit instagram photos in the future! thank you for understanding, instagram, it’s nothing personal.

instagram from the weekend

a few instagram photos from our weekend::

an early morning walk along Atlantic Avenue… LOVE seeing the sun on the ocean. 🙂

some ornaments were perfected. another post with “how to” soon! Image

i got to play with this little cutie… just a little 🙂 this girl coos more than any other baby i’ve ever met. so cute::

we may have been one of “those people” who went to see it on it’s opening weekend. eek! loved it! husbuddy loved it too:: Image

there was some work done… just hanging out on top of a beach house roof- in the snow/sleet- to measure how high the second floor to be in order to see the ocean view! haha. my boss pretending to be saying something important, but really just hilarious::Image

after the roof adventure we made it into Newburyport again for a cup of hot goodness. a coffee shop that makes it’s own dairy free chocolate and makes drinks with almond milk for husbuddy! definitely an exciting new find. and the snow was so pretty!Image

i’m sad to see the weekend end… but it just means that we’re a little closer to Christmas! yay!

what adventures did you have this weekend?
